Zimzum Discipleship: Practices for a Christ-Centered Life – Lesson 2, The Transformational Power of Story

Dear Friends,

Our faith is grounded in the stories we have been given in Scripture. Ever since I was a kid, I loved Bible stories. I had a Show ‘n Tell combination filmstrip and record player with a good collection of both Old and New Testament content—like Noah’s Ark and David and Goliath to the Parable of the Lost Sheep and Jesus’ Last Supper. 

The biblical narrative has a way of getting into our hearts and minds and changing us. If we’re intentional about it, that is. If we make space.

Our second video in the Zimzum Discipleship series focuses on the Transformational Power of Stories. I encourage you to take time to watch it with others and to engage with scripture in slow and meaningful ways. Stories can in fact bring us to a new place in our lives, or cause us to respond with kindness, or to work for justice. But that can only happen if we’re intentionally making space to do so.
