Southwestern Washington Synod E-News Week of April 10, 2022 DEMENTIA SERVICES at LCS NORTHWEST is pleased to announce a new FREE educational opportunity for Pierce County. Along with Dementia Friends, which is focused on building a dementia friendly community, Lutheran Community Services NW now offers Behavioral Interventions training. Focused on caregivers, families, and service providers, this program is designed to increase understanding of the behaviors of someone living with dementia, and to provide techniques and tips for those caring for them to help create a calmer day to day routine and increased quality of life for the person with the disease and their care team. Even with the lingering threat and Russian military movements in recent weeks, the escalation of violence within Ukraine on February 24th came as a shock to many. The weight of grief is palpable as the people of Central and Eastern Europe shape their humanitarian response to the crisis in Ukraine.
