…National Retro Day: On February 27, National Retro Day takes us back to a time before smartphones and the internet.


Every generation looks back and asks, “Remember when?” This celebration indulges our love for the good ol’ days while remaining in the present.


No matter the decade, pick a point in time where people talked more face to face than text to text, had dinner at home around the table and the kids played games that didn’t require internet.


What’s your retro? On National Retro Day, swoop the hair into a mile-high beehive or strut those eight-inch bell bottoms. Can you maximize the curls for a stellar Afro? Don’t hesitate to break out the old roller skates and see if you still have those mad skills. Tie the hair up with a polka dot bandana and strike muscle pose like Rosie the Riveter. Maybe you prefer a moonwalk, a leather jacket, and a single glove.


With no smartphones, internet, or social media, we spent more time focused on each other when we were together. Each moment is recorded in memory for us to look back retrospectively and not for the whole world to see.

Getting the Stations of the Cross Ready – Grubby Sunday, March 10th

On Sunday, March 10th, please join us after the service for a work party to clean up the Stations of the Cross trail and grounds as we begin preparations for Holy Week. There will be tasks for all ages and abilities. For station attendants, it is a great time to spruce up the station in your care. If you are no longer able to serve as an attendant or have any questions please reach out to Laura Johnson at 703-424-8664 or Lawigand@gmail.com.


NEW BOOK! The Faithful Living class announces its new book pick for the Lenten season: No Moment Too Small: Rhythms of Silence, Prayer, and Holy Reading by Norvene Vest. Please join us at 6:15 am (Yep. It’s early!) at Urraco Coffee Co (Steamboat location). COMING UP THIS SPRING (pun intended) we’ll be reading Contemplative Gardening by Pamela Dolan. Join us in person or pick up a book and read these great books on your own schedule!

Prayer of the Week: O God, by the passion of your blessed Son you made an instrument of shameful death to be for us the means of life.
