Ordination of Alex Winfield Linn

You are invited to share in The Vigil of Pentecost with Rite of Ordination, Alex Winfield Linn by the grace of God and the gift of the Holy Spirit, Alex has received a call through the Southwest Washington Synod of the ELCA to serve as the pastor for Family of Christ Lutheran Church in Vancouver, Washington.

Ministers are invited to vest and process, the color of the day is red.

Saturday, May 23rd, 3:00PM Central/1:00PM Pacific.

Immanuel Lutheran Chicago can be easily found by using the CTA Red Line, off Thorndale, or the 22 Clark Buss. Parking is on the street and there are no zone prohibitions on Saturday. The Southwest Washington Synod of the ELCA is honored to welcome The Reverend Christy LohrSapp of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem for two special events on Tuesday June 3rd and Wednesday 4th.  

On June 3rd, a public event will be held at St. Mark’s by the Narrows Lutheran Church in Tacoma from 7-8 pm. Pastor Christy will discuss the ministries of the ELCJHL, the current situation of our Palestinian siblings, and opportunities for advocacy/accompaniment. All are welcome. 

On June 4th, an event geared towards clergy will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton from 12-2pm and will include lunch. This presentation is designed to offer ways for congregations in the US to feel connected to the important ministries in Palestine, and to introduce congregations in the SWWA synod to ways to grow from awareness into action.

Get Ready for LSM 2026!

Lutheran Summer Music returns to St. Olaf College for its 2026 season, June 21–July 19, featuring more than 40 free concerts, recitals, worship services, and special events free and open to the public.

Highlights include the inaugural LSM Choral Gathering, guest performance by Cantus, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, the Bach Cantata Eucharist, and Festival Week concerts featuring LSM’s Festival Band, Choir, and Orchestra. Most events will also be available online via Live from LSM.
