Fellows Forum: A Spirituality that Embraces our Whole Heart – Joy and Rage Alike
|
February 13, 12:00 pm | Online
Hear from the Rev. Elizabeth Riley discussing her recent book “Rage Prayers” in a conversation with the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF). In a post-pandemic world marked by political uncertainty, climate crisis, and church decline, clergy and lay Episcopalians feel overwhelmed and anxious. Often, spirituality is misused to suppress genuine emotions, hindering our ability to support those in need. In discussion with the Rev. Callie Swanlund of the Diocese of Pennsylvania, the two will explore a spirituality that embraces the whole heart – joy and rage alike – equipping us to support our communities with compassion and justice.

This training is required for all canonically resident and licensed clergy and for non-clergy who have a key to the church facility, including, but not limited to: vestry and bishop’s committee members; church staff; Eucharistic ministers/visitors; and anyone who works with minors in any capacity. Any other interested parishioners are encouraged to take this free training. Certification is valid for three years and then a renewal is required. Christ Church Seattle is renovating, and we would like to find a new home for our pews. There are 24 plus 2 pew frontals. The pews are solid oak, with kneelers, 34 inches tall, 22 inches deep, and 130 inches (almost 11 feet) long. Free, but you’ll need to move them. Please contact cwpratt@proton.me for more info.

The altar was built in 1897 and used at St. Paul’s Port Townsend until the recent renovation of the church last year. Unfortunately, due to limited space, they have no place to incorporate the altar today. The altar measures 20″ X 45″ and is 34″ tall. It has a wonderful history, and they hope that someone in the Diocese might be able to use it. If you are interested, please contact St. Paul’s at 360.385.0770 or stpauls_pt@outlook.com.

Seeking Wonder, Love, & Praise Hymnal
|
The St. John’s, Olympia Music Director, Steve O’Connor, has requested 20 pew-edition copies of the Wonder, Love, & Praise hymnal. They are hoping to beg or borrow (permanently) extra, unused copies that might be knocking around somewhere, if at all possible. They would like to offset the cost and potential waste of ordering brand-new copies if there are a number of them not being used at another church. They are willing to pick them up in the Olympia/Tacoma/Federal Way/Puyallup/Gig Harbor etc. areas.
