Children go Sledding in White Pass

Sunday School Teachers Carrie Bowen and Annaka Thibodeaux organized a day of sledding and tubing down the slopes of White Pass. The day was awash with bright sunlight and brisk temperatures in the morning, perfect for the days events.
Tubing came first down a slick track made by snow groomers. Tubing children were thrilled at being able to go by themselves, with a parent, or even doubling up with a friend.
In the middle of the day we stopped to refuel with a picnic lunch. The peanut- -butter-pickle sandwiches were a big hit! (Don’t knock it till you try it!)
Next we headed out to find our own hill and use our own sleds. Others had the same idea and we soon found ourselves awash in parents and kids. The parents lined up at the bottom of the hill, fielding runaway kids on sleds like it was a baseball game filled with too many outfielders. Kids screamed in delight and just enough fright to keep it fun and thrilling.
By afternoon we were beat and the weather was changing. Crowds had appeared, but we’d had the best of the day already.
God saw us safely home and we slept well and deeply that night.
