Justice for the Poor – Education Hour this September
“How can we learn from the poor? What is our responsibility to care for the poor and to advocate for justice on their behalf?”
These are the sorts of questions we’ll be asking this September and October in our weekly education hour at St. Christopher’s. We’ll be following Justice for the Poor, a six-session curriculum designed by Sojourners. Here’s what the authors have to say:
“Justice for the Poor recaptures the biblical vision that links poverty with justice. Jesus’ life and teaching shows a deep compassion toward the poor and marginalized. His messages often highlight the injustices shown to the poor and the prejudices the well-off have against them.”
Each week will start with a short video, followed by conversation. Participant books are available for $5. Please sign up on the kiosk at church if you’d like a copy.
Justice for the Poor starts Sunday, September 8, during the education hour: 9-10am. Join at any time–all are welcome.
