Christians have been walking the Stations of the Cross for centuries. The Stations are a series of stops along Jesus’ way from his condemnation before Pilate to his death on the cross.
Walking the Stations is a form of prayer that can help us to meditate on Christ’s suffering and on his continued presence among those who suffer today.
A number of years ago, St. Christopher’s members created a Stations of the cross trail through the woods on the church’s property. You are welcome to come and walk the trail on your own at any time.
The trail begins on the left just inside the main Steamboat Island Road gate. If the gate is closed, feel free to park outside and walk around the gate on the path. Booklets to guide you in your prayer and reflection can be found in a small wooden box to the left of the church’s front doors.
