Please note: in the event that information conflicts please take into account the following:

• New policy supercedes the old. Use current documents
• Diocesan policy/Synod policy cannot countermand TEC / ELCA policy. The latter supercedes the former. 
• Congregational policy cannot countermand Diocesan/Synodical or TEC / ELCA policy. The latter supercedes the former.
• When TEC – ELCA policies or Synod – Diocesan policies confilct (i.e. Episcopalians and Lutherans differ), the stricter of the two policies is to be chosen. 
• Church fiscal policy cannot countermand local, state, and federal policy. That would be illegal.
