Bio: “I was baptized at Rainbow Christian Camp in Converse, Indiana in 1990 (age 9). At that time the camp was part of the ministry of my family’s community church, Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield, IN. I married Tesa (Znamenacek) Frevert in 2006 after graduating from The University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, IN with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies. I am a family practice physician assistant currently working at The Evergreen State College Student Wellness Center. I have two children, Willa (13) and Rusher (10, acolyte at St. Christopher’s) who attend Griffin School.”
Anita Goin
Bio: “I was baptized as an infant in 1956 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church when it was a mission church of the Benedictine monks of St. Martin’s Abbey in what is now Lacey, Washington. All but 10 of my 67 years of life have been lived in Thurston County, with the last 30 being in our current home West of Olympia near Mud Bay. I attended Eastern Washington State College (now University) studying to be a nurse before switching to Special Education. (Little did I know then what God had planned for my life!) My husband Gary and I met in 1974 as 18-year-old freshmen at Eastern. We married 5 years later. Our first child, Andy, was born in Oregon. Then we moved to Bakersfield, California where our daughter, Jenny, was born. At the completion of Gary’s training program in 1985 we moved “home” to Olympia where Gary established a solo Family Medicine practice and where our second son, Tim, was born. All three of our children were raised and attended public school in Olympia.
Our three children have grown into adults and Gary is now retired. Jenny, is married and lives in Tumwater. She and her husband have two young children. Our sons, Andy and Tim, were born with a rare genetic condition which causes multiple disability areas and unique health-related challenges. My work for the bulk of my adult life has been to support their needs in order for them to live the lives God gave them; and for them to be able to live full lives of their choosing. As a volunteer and otherwise, I navigated and advocated within the systems our sons’ lives are attached to and often depend on. It has been rewarding work that continues to this day.
I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, baking and cooking, walking, and reading and watching British mysteries. Pre-pandemic I used to volunteer A LOT and loved it. I also yearn to travel.
