Join young adults from across the Diocese for a rich, guided conversation about the complicated ways relationships and faith intersect. Video shorts, provocative questions, and small group reflection will round out our time together.

A little about our facilitator…
The Rev. Danáe Ashley currently serves as Associate Rector at St. Andrew’s, Seattle. She is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice at Soul Spa Seattle. Mother Danáe’s interfaith Clergy Care Circles directly support diverse clergy across the country. She is an alumna of Young Clergy Women International and a member of Thank God for Sex–promoting healing for those who have shame about their bodies, sexuality, and faith.

World Council of Churches
Accepting Applications for Eco-School
Young adults ages 18 – 30 are encouraged to apply for the World Council of Churches (WCC) Eco-School 2022, to be held in New York City, December 5-11.
Participants will explore the ways in which North America has the ability and resilience to tackle climate change. They will examine the global climate crisis from a perspective of faith and ethics, and search together for multi-faith responses to these challenges.
Contact the Diocese of Olympia for assistance with registration and airfare. Accommodations and food are covered by the WCC.
Applications close November 10, 2022.

The Service Corps is a ministry of the Episcopal Church that empowers adults aged 21-32 to transform unjust structures through community building, local collaboration, prayer, and action.

OCTOBER
Sunday Stairway Walks
Saint Mark’s 20s & 30s lead the way on urban treks that take in a local church as well as the architecture and natural beauty nearby. Last Sunday’s Stairway Walk was hosted by the good people of Trinity Episcopal, in the heart of downtown. SSW Coordinator Emily Meeks says to look for the next Walk in Spring, 2023.

SEPTEMBER
Heart of the Table
Nurturing Roots Farm in the Beacon Hill neighborhood played host to the first annual Heart of the Table event.
Founded in 2016 by Nyema Clark, Nurturing Roots is a thriving community farming program that values community, self-sufficiency, food empowerment, social justice, and education.
This event was the brainchild of Emily Meeks; many thanks to her and the planning committee for bringing a magical evening to life! Shout-out to: the Rev. Malcolm McLaurin, Acacia Pappas, Tieran Sweeny-Bender, Michael Perera, Julia Cooper, Lauren Wearsch, and Rachel Neuharth, with support from Lacey Brown and Ann Strickland. And many thanks to everyone who attended and participated so joyfully!

Experience a weekend of peace, prayer, and self-care with young adults from across the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia…
This casual retreat, February 10 – 12, is designed for adults in their 20s and 30s who are seeking to experience an array of contemplative practices from a Taizé service to lectio divina to centering prayer to a holy hike.
The retreat center is just south of Seattle and right on the coast. $125/person includes all meals and a private room/bath for 2 nights. Sliding scale and scholarships available.
