Blueberry Bash 2020
The Bishop’s Council and our pie-making team leaders have a plan for Blueberry Bash 2020!
Using our FaceBook page, our webpage, and Zoom, we would have an online event! There would be online sales of sweatshirts and T-shirts, online children’s story-telling, and perhaps an online Bingo and an online scavenger hunt. Also we could sponsor an online raffle!
The pies come in as prizes! We would ask people to join us in supporting our ministries by donating what they would have spent on food and drink and games to the Food Bank, Open Hands Garden, Children’s Ministry, Community Lifeline, and Outreach to ill or elderly and shut-ins. When people donate, their name goes into a drawing for a pie. We would have a drawing every 10 minutes, so the sooner you donate the more chances you’d have to win! (This is a win-win because we would not have to produce hundreds of pies and its fun for everyone!)
Our banner would still be hung over the street by the Fire Station, advertising the online event and the web address to join in! We’d also be letting the community know that although we’d miss seeing everyone at the Bash due to Covid restrictions, we are trying a new, virtual way to offer the Blueberry Bash and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.
We hope you will be excited over this venture (no tents to put up and take down, no refrigerators to hook up, no searches through the sheds for missing items!). If you see yourself helping to make this virtual event happen, please let us know how you could help. We’ll still need some (at-home) pie-makers, staff for the raffle and for the sweatshirt/T-shirt sales, game facilitators, and more!
